rotissary chicken braided bread

TGIF!!  If you had a busy week like I have, you really don’t feel much like cooking much less doing anything for that matter!  So, I officially declare “FRIDAY SANDWICH DAY”  I promise this recipe is so simple anyone can make it. Heck, this is so fun and easy to do, ask your kids to help you.  Serve alongside a fresh salad and you will look as if you were slaving all day. This quick and scrumptious recipe only requires 5 ingredients and will leave your family beggin’ for more.

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 thawed Bread Dough (I like Rhodes but use whatever brand you prefer)

1/2 fully Cooked Rotisserie Chicken (use white meat or dark, save remainder of chicken to use later)

1 Package Colby/Jack blend cheese

1 bottle Thousand Island Dressing

1 egg beaten with teaspoon of water to  brush over sandwich


On a floured surface roll out thawed prepared bread dough to an 9×12 rectangle

Place chicken pieces in the center down the long way of the bread dough

Spread dressing on top of chicken

Add cheese to top of chicken

Starting a one side, make 1/2 inch cuts along the edge of the dough and repeat on the other side of the dough.

Starting on one side of the dough criss-cross the cut strips over the side of the chicken. Seal ends of the dough by tucking in over chicken.

Place the braided sandwich on a greased baking sheet.

Brush the braided sandwich with the beaten egg mixture and top with course salt.

Cook in preheated 350 degree oven until lightly golden brown.
